Trottin-Trottinette was opened in 1983 in response to a growing need for children to be exposed to the French language in a preschool environment. French is introduced to children in a positive and enriched environment tailored to their needs, abilities and knowledge of French. Every attempt is made to promote an appreciation of French language and a feeling of inclusion in French culture.
Since September 2005 Trottin-Trottinette has expanded to include before and after preschool daycare to meet the growing needs of the francophone population on the North Shore. The daycare is open during school vacations (one week in January, one week during Spring break and the summer).
We recognize each child’s individuality and respect differences in learning aptitudes and speed. It is important that the child feels secure and at ease in the environment which is attractive, child-sized, bright, warm and inviting.
